FRESH Magazine:
Home Edition
FRESH Magazine: Home Edition was my thesis project for Pratt Institute where I wrote about how magazines will turn completely from print to digital. During my internship at HouseBeautiful and ELLE Decor, I was able to use their articles and images to redesign in a completely digital format. I designed the magazine to work primarily in the landscape orientation on the iPad.

The first set of images is the table of contents. The magazine is split into 4 sections Color, The Know, Re-Fresh, and Lifestyle. There is a compact and extended version of the menu to take you to individual sections and articles. Each section header page, links to the stories in that section.
Pages
This image shows one type of layout for an article. The text on the left and right sides can be scrolled up and down and the mages can click through with the arrows on the images.
These articles are about individual pieces of furniture and not a complete home redesign. Clicking the arrows moves the reader through the items.
With these articles if the small diamonds are selected then the information about the item would appear with the item name, description, and price.
With these articles when the items of decor are selected then they are highlighted in the center of the graphic.
These articles are the simplest design of the magazine. Here you swipe up to view the next page of the design.
With this recipe, you can go to the next page to view the written menu instructions or play the video of the chef making the food.
For these articles the text on the first page scrolls vertically or horizontically. Once the image is clicked on it becomes full size.
